The Diabetes Expo will feature Exhibits and Resources for persons living with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes and feature two special speakers.

The nominees have been approved and on Tuesday, November 14th another select group of Chatham-Kent’s most accomplished individuals – both past and present - will be recognized by the agricultural community with their induction into the Kent Agricultural Hall of Fame.
The annual ceremony takes place at Country View Golf Course on Hwy 40 north of Chatham beginning with a “Meet n Greet” reception at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $25 per person and are available by contacting Kathy Vanek at 519-683-2929. The induction ceremony is open to anyone with agricultural or rural interests.

Come join us at our cribbage tournament on Oct 14. Registration is at 11am. $20 per team. Cash prizes. Light lunch available at break.Enjoy a filling fantastic breakfast on Sunday Oct 15, 9am-12 at $7 per plate.  includes bacon,sausage,eggs/pancakes, home fries, toast, juice & bottomless coffee/tea.

2-6pm Saturday October 14 at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 95 Smiths Falls. Proceeds from the dance benefit the Ultrasound campaign for the Smiths Falls Community Hospital Foundation. Tickets $10 available at the foundation office or call 613-283-9743.

October is child abuse prevention month. This FREE training is open to all child care providers, teachers, parents, guardians, and youth workers. Registration for these workshops is mandatory. We will be offering the session 5 times.

At the Wheatley Branch, Chatham-Kent Public Library with members of the Wheatley Fire Station 20 for a night of stories about firemen, fire trucks and fire safety.  The fun starts at 6:00 pm with the library staff reading stories and doing activities. Families then get to go outside (dress for the weather please) and talk with the firemen and tour the fire truck. Tuesday, October 10 at 6:00 pm
