Prince Edward Community Care offers over 50 free events each month for seniors 60+ both online and by telephone. Online Zoom Classes & “Socials for Seniors” are held Monday to Friday. Join in at 10:30am for fitness classes, and in the afternoons at 2:00pm for arts & socials. See the Community Care website for the activity calendar. Seniors without a computer can join online Zoom webinars via the telephone!

Ruth Nicholson, a proud UEL descendant, will discuss her research into the lives of three of her loyalist ancestors who played an important role in the history of Upper Canada and early Essex County.

Public Notices/Announcements - Quinte - Free Income Tax Program for seniors 60+
Prince Edward Community Care volunteers will complete 2021 income tax returns for seniors who live in Prince Edward County starting on March 1, 2022. If you are a senior 60+ whose single income is $35,000 or lower or a couple whose household income is $45,000 or lower, you may be eligible for help through this program. Volunteers have been trained by Canada Revenue Agency to complete Income Tax Returns for eligible clients. Volunteers do not complete income tax and benefit returns for: deceased persons; resident of Long-term Care homes; bankrupt individuals; for those with more than $1000 of investment income; for individuals with capital gains/losses; or for people with business or rental income and expenses. Public Notices/Announcements - Quinte - Curbside Pick-Up Take Out Meals, For those 60+
Prince Edward Community Care continues the monthly curbside pick-up of meals on February 24, 2022. Chef Bill Grieve of Wheelhouse and Occasions catering is preparing a scrumptious meal of homemade soup, roast turkey with dressing and cranberry sauce, potatoes, hot vegetable, slice of bread and cherry cheesecake for dessert. The cost is only $15.00/meal and seniors 60+ can order by calling the Community Care office at 613-476-7493. All meals must be paid for in advance. Meals will be packaged hot and ready to be picked up at The View Restaurant at the Picton Golf Club. Only those who preorder and pay will be served. This two-part virtual workshop series helps parents and caregivers learn how to successfully feed their baby throughout the first year of life: Part 1 (0-6 months) Part 2 (6-12 months).
