Learn something new in 20 minutes or less! CKPL’s How-To Festival is in celebration of Ontario Public Library Week and will take place from October 16 to 23. During the Festival a new How-To video will be posted each morning to CKPL’s Facebook Page @ckplibrary and YouTube channel. How-To Kits will be sent out to registered patrons after videos are posted each day.

In-person storytimes are starting in October at CKPL! To check if there are spots at your local branch and to register, click ckpl.ca or call! Capacity limits, distancing and masks precautions will be in place.

Get out and get active during Walk-tober!

October 1-31st we're hosting a kids Walk-tober contest!! Get your kids out, active and exploring our local trails and nature.

Every October, Children’s Aid Societies across Ontario raise awareness about the important role that individuals and communities play in supporting vulnerable children, youth, and families through the provincial Dress Purple Day campaign. The campaign is more important than ever, since the COVID-19 pandemic has created additional stressors for families, and in some cases has increased risk for the well-being and safety of children and youth.

This year, Dress Purple Day will take place on Wednesday, October 27, 2021.

We are calling on all Ontarians to wear something purple to show children, youth, and families that they are here to help!
