Peterborough Historical Society public virtual talk on YouTube. Speaker Dennis Carter-Edwards is a graduate of Trent University and a Research Historian with Parks Canada for 36 years, finishing his career at the Trent-Severn Waterway NHSC. Dennis is currently researching treatment of vulnerable seniors at the beginning of the 20th century. His talk will examin the construction and operation of the Peterborough County House of Refuge from its opening in 1907 to 1920. Institutional care for the elderly dominates today's headlines and the talk promises to be of both historical and current interest.
