The City of North Bay will again designate Memorial Drive
as an active transportation route during the upcoming weekend in an effort to assist with
physical distancing requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Memorial Drive will be closed between Regina Street and the Marina starting Friday, May 22,
at 3 p.m. and will reopen Monday, May 25, at 8 a.m. The closure is designed to allow those
who are cycling and walking maintain a safe distance by using the roadway. Vehicles will be
able to access the waterfront parking lots and Marina entrance. Signage indicating no through
traffic will be posted ahead of both entrances to Memorial Drive along Lakeshore Drive and
Main Street West.
