Community Event - Brockville/Prescott - Meet the Author Peggy Hallett
On Saturday, September 28 at 2 p.m., author Peggy Hallett will present The Last Olive Branch at the Brockville Public Library.
Set in Italy, Hallett takes the reader back in time, to the villagers of Carranetto and the olive industry.
Stella, a determined individual in a close knit family rose stood her ground, enduring blackmail, abuse and daily struggles, all at the hands of the harsh don. It took three generations before freedom, education and the realization that the village people had choices.
This event is free and hosted by the Friends of the Brockville Public Library.

Community Event - Brockville/Prescott - Rotary's ShowTime Scene 1 Take 9 Fundraiser
On Friday, September 27, Brockville Rotary Clubs along with their major sponsor, Brockville Home Hardware Building Centre will present a costume titled event, ShowTime, Scene 1 Take 9.
Social Hour begins at 5:30 as ticket holders arrive at the Brockville Country Club Granite Hall for a fabulous evening dressed in a favourite movie star's costume. While browsing the Silent Auction items, delight in the evening's signature drink, a Taylored Black Russian.
The MC's and entertainment will be Brockville's own Chris Coyea and Alex Fleuriau Chateau. A Hollywood themed dinner will be served at 7 p.m.
Live Auction items include a stay in the Royal Suite of Singer Castle, 10-pack of day tickets to Calabogie Peaks Resort, NHL Hockey Game tickets with transportation included from Via Rail, Burnbrae Farm Double Yolk Eggs and much more.
