Chatham-Kent Public Library, in partnership with Chatham-Kent Employment and Social Services and Service Canada, is offering an ID Clinic for anyone who needs help getting identification. This Clinic will be held at the Ridgetown Branch.

Clinics will offer individuals assistance with filling out online or paper Birth Certificate applications. Those who require photo ID will gain an understanding of the purpose of photo ID and the steps they will need to take to acquire the Photo ID card. Information on how to obtain a Health Card will also be available. CKPL’s partnership has extended to Service Canada who will be onsite to assist anyone who requires a Social Insurance Number (SIN) or Personal Access Code and to answer any questions applicable to their services. Assistance will also be available to apply to the Ontario Electricity Support Program, for those who qualify.

There is no registration required for this ID Clinic and individuals will be served on a first come, first serve basis. There is NO FEE to attend and financial screening will be available for those who may need assistance with payment for identification.

Francois Road between Seminole Street and C.N. Rail, and Franklin Street from Rossini Boulevard to Francois Road are under construction for sewer, water main, street lighting and road rehabilitation. Detour signage is in place. Project underway, continuing to December 15.

Community Event - Windsor/Leamington - Jerry Slavik's Friends Day - event update

 A tribute event for the late Jerry Slavik is open to the entire community. Jerry’s Friends Day is an opportunity for his family to thank everyone who came into Jerry’s life and gave of their time, support and friendship. 

 Fun for the whole family, Jerry’s Friends Day, begins at 5 pm at Alumni Stadium at the University of Windsor. 

Activities include:  Face painting; Amy’s Kids Corner; Knobby’s Kids Hockey Skills; University of Windsor Athletic Club Run the Track; Zoo2You Petting Zoo; Popcorn; Cotton Candy; the Hospice Wellness Band, the Windsor Fire Department, EMS and so much more. 

 A special Memory Lap for Jerry will commence at 5:30. W​ith a donation, participants will receive a commemorative racing bib​ to join the celebratory race.

 The event will culminate in a spectacular display of fireworks by K & H.
