The Friends of the Peterborough Public Library will host our Fall Book Sale on Friday, October 24th and Saturday, October 25th. The Sale begins on Friday at 12:00 noon and continues until 7 p.m. The hours on Saturday are 10:00 a.m. until 3 pm. There will be rare books dating from the early 20th century right through to current bestsellers. Many categories of non-fiction books can be found, as well as a wide and varied selection of mysteries. We have an extensive selection of children’s books from baby’s first book to young adult fiction. Whatever category of book you're looking for, there's a good chance you'll find it at our Sale. The earlier you come, the better your chances. All proceeds from our sale will be donated to the Peterborough Public Library for special programming. We look forward to seeing you there.

We're getting ready for a very musical autumn at St. Andrew's, and we're kicking the season off with a Community Hymn Sing on First Friday! Come and sing familiar favourites, led by our music director Lois Lafond with special guests Madeleine Kerr, Barb & Larry Pajuk, Gwen Butler, David Crosbie and more!

Join us Friday, September 5 from 6 to 7pm at 261 Christina St., N., Sarnia. Enter by our front door or by our accessible side door, off the driveway between the church and the hotel. Entrance is free, but donations will be gratefully accepted at the door.

Community Event - Peterborough/Lindsay - PSO Musical Nature Walk

The Peterborough Symphony Orchestra, in partnership with the Peterborough Field Naturalists and Tecasy Ranch, is again offering a unique musical experience in nature on Saturday, September 6th. There will be two performances at 12:30 and 4 p.m. 

 

Guests will be placed in small groups and led along walking trails by Peterborough Field Naturalist guides who will interpret the surrounding flora and fauna. Interspersed, the guests will come upon PSO musicians providing small ensemble performances in lovely natural backdrops.

 

The walking trails are suitable for casual hikers and guests are encouraged to dress appropriately (suitable footwear and comfortable clothing). Unfortunately, the trails are not suitable for patrons with mobility devices.

Msgr. Kevin J. Maloney Knights of Columbus Council are back to serving their next delicious Community Family Breakfast on Sunday, September 28th in the St. Francis de Sales Parish Hall (434 Second St. W.) from 8:30 AM to Noon. Complete breakfast including bacon, sausages, eggs any style, beans, home fries and beverage. All are welcome. Fully accessible venue with elevator service provided. Adults $10.00 and under 12 years $4.00.

 

These Community Family Breakfasts are held to raise funds in support of the Knights of Columbus Council's charitable programs in the Cornwall community.
