The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society (Windsor, Ontario Branch) are inviting the community to join them for their next Ceilidh on Friday, February 16, at the Scottish Club of Windsor.
A ceilidh is an informal social dance with a caller who demonstrates and then calls out the moves, making it ideally suited for beginners. Audience members are invited to join in the dances, or are welcome to come and enjoy the live music.
The event is free. Since the Ceilidh is held during Friday night dinners at the Scottish Club, an optional $10 meal is available ($6 for kids). Dancing starts at 6:30pm with the meal being offered from 5pm to 7:30pm.
Looking for something to do as a family this weekend? St. John Anglican Church has their monthly community dinner on Sunday Feb. 18. Doors open at 2 George Street South at 3:45pm. The event is non-denominational and every is welcome.
Eat Right Ontario says that being active as a family strengthens not only everyone's heart, lungs, bones and muscles, but also your relationships with one another. Families who play together talk, laugh, sing and enjoy. They develop mutual interests, cheer each other on and develop a teamwork mentality. On Monday, February 19, it is Family Day in Ontario, and we invite you to join us at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex for free family activities!
Power Off and Play with free 45-minute swims taking place at the beginning of each hour from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The Healthy Kids Community Challenge Windsor-Essex hosts our free swims. Windsor-Essex is one of the 45 communities across Ontario that was awarded a provincial grant to promote healthy eating, physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices for children between the ages of 0 and 12. There will be prizes and giveaways!
