The Active Living Programs (ALP) are offered by The Prince Edward County Community Care for Seniors Association. Through this initiative Community Care offers fitness, social and recreational activities both online and close to where seniors live. Membership in ALP is available to seniors 60+ for $25.00/year/person. Membership benefits include full access to all programs and events (some programs may have additional fees); meet new friends; discover a new hobby, skill or talent; receive monthly updates of programs via email or a phone call for people without email. In-person Seniors Luncheon Social – Sophiasburgh Town Hall on May 29th
All seniors 60+ are welcome to attend for food, fun and socialization at the first in person Seniors Luncheon Social held by Prince Edward Community Care since the pandemic began in 2020. It takes place on Thursday, May 29 at 12:00 noon at the Sophiasburgh Town Hall in Demorestville. Grab your plate, cup and cutlery and enjoy hamburg steak with fried onions, mashed potatoes and gravy, veggies, salad and dessert all for $20. Only those who preorder and pay will be served. To order, or for more information, call 613-476-7493. Delivery can be arranged for seniors who live near Demorestville and require it. Following a brief business section, Naturalist David J. Hawke will speak to the group about his topic "Wildflower Legend and Lore". There are some strange names attached to our local wildflowers and this presentation looks at the history and uses of many of them. From Stinking Benjamin to Bouncing Bet to Dog-strangling Vine, learn of their background and why they continue to be a fascination to botanists

Curbside pick-up meal on May 22, 2025 - pick-up at Elks Lodge, 21 Elk Street Picton
Prince Edward Community Care holds monthly curbside pick-up meals. This event is on Thursday, May 22nd and the pickup location is Elks Lodge. Kelly Bannister is preparing a scrumptious meal of Lasagna and garlic bread, soup, Caesar salad, and dessert. The cost is $20.00/meal and seniors 60+ can order by calling the Community Care office at 613-476-7493. All meals must be paid for in advance. Meals will be packaged hot and ready to be picked up at noon. Only those who preorder and pay will be served. To order, or for more information, call 613-476-7493.
