Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance Class

Do you like to work outdoors? Tri-County Literacy Council is offering a free 5-week Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance program. Participants practice Essential Skills such as reading, writing, thinking, oral communication, and computer use, while learning about this position. This certificate program is also augmented with guest speakers. Class runs Monday to Thursday 9 am to 12 pm for 5 weeks, starting February 28th. Northumberland Aquatic Club with the help of Arthurs Pub at The Best Western Plus Inn and Convention Center is hosting a fundraising dinner on the 20th of February. For $25.00 that includes a $10.00 donation to the Swim Club, you will receive an amazing meal that consists of  a Grilled BBQ Chicken Breast, 1/2 Rack of Tender Back Ribs, House made Ranch Beans, Coleslaw and Corn Bread. Sheridan College and YourTV have collaborated in many different ways over the years.

YourTV often provides training or internship opportunities for their TV Production students.

We have also aired some of the TV Production students' programming on the channel, and have had students participate in our programming as well

We've also been an outlet for some of Sheridan's programming, most notably their Convocation ceremonies.

In celebration of International Women's Day, Belleville Public Library is hosting a virtual panel of local female entrepreneurs. On Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 3 pm join us on Zoom or Facebook Live to hear their stories and ask questions about their unique journeys.

The panel will feature:

  • Kerry Ramsay, Project Manager, Women's Entrepreneurship Strategy at Queen's University and host of the podcast, Power Your Platform;
  • Sisters Shamsa and Kaltum Hassan, owners of the natural skin care business, Afiya Beauty (Quinte);
  • Heather Case, owner of the sustainable handmade clothing business, Heather Case Clothing (Belleville); and,
  • Mabel Lee, owner of the deliciously authentic Montréal-style Bagel business, Mabel’s Bagels (Belleville).
