The Belleville Public Library will offer the BPL Writers’ Collective through Zoom while we are in social distancing. This virtual writers’ group gives the opportunity to chat about your work, get ideas, and gain insight on how to improve your writing. Writers’ groups are a great place to encourage yourself and others to meet your writing goals, whether you’re writing fiction or nonfiction.

In celebration of National Indigenous Peoples Day the Belleville Public Library is honoured to partner with FNTI and welcome artist, researcher and educator Simon Brascoupé, Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg. Simon will discuss the teachings of three books: Giving Thanks by Chief Jake Swamp, All Our Relations by Tanya Talaga, and Noopiming: The Cure for White Ladies by Leanne Betasamosake Simpson. We hope that you will join us in listening to Simon, to not only celebrate and appreciate Indigenous literature, but to gain an understanding of the diverse Indigenous experiences and cultures in Canada.

The Chatham-Kent Quilters' Guild meets via zoom on the third Wednesday of every month. Everyone is welcome to join us, including non-members. Non-members will pay a $5 fee per meeting and can enjoy our presentations, guest speakers and all of the other fun at our meeting. Our membership fee is $50 per year and this entitles you to our Newsletter and all of our regular meetings free of charge.

Do you have any empties around the house or garage for return? Please think of KLAWS & help us help the animals! Kawartha Lakes Animal Wellness Society (KLAWS) was started in 2013 and is a local volunteer driven group. We strive to make a difference in the lives of abandoned, lost/found and stray animals in the City of Kawartha Lakes and beyond. We are now collecting wine, liquor, beer bottles/cans, wine bladders year round - anything that is returnable to the beer store! As with all our fundraisers, 100% of the funds goes directly towards the care of the animals we assist. March of Dimes Canada offers a monthly, video conference, " ZOOM "
meeting over computer, cellphone, tablet, iPhone, touchtone telephone
or smart phone, the 4th Wednesday of each month, 1pm to 2pm. This
program is 100% free.
This is a peer-led support group, with a March of Dimes Canada
Facilitator, and is completely private to those taking part in the
video-audio conference.
