Peterborough Native Learning Program is taking part in the GREAT CANADIAN GIVING CHALLENGE!!!

From June 1st-30th, every dollar donated to PNLP will give us an entry to win a $20,000 donation! During these difficult times, our learners would benefit from funds to assist with remote learning!  If we won the $20,000 we would be able to do our much needed renovations to make our agency more accessible upon our return!

Please consider donating at  https://www.canadahelps.org/en/gcgc/55579  Every bit counts!

We are still providing services for GED/CAAT prep, Apprenticeship, Upgrading and digital skills through a remote platform and we are taking NEW learners!  Call us at 705-741-0798 or email at info@pnlp.org

Submitted by cbrunet on

Forged in Fire is a collaborative project between the Kingston Marine Museum and RMC museum exploring the maritime contributions of Kingston and area to the Second World War. But, they need your help to tell the story and are looking to speak with naval veterans of the Second World War and their descendants to help capture and share the story of Kingston and the Area’s community contributions to the war effort. This could include anecdotes, letters, photographs and/or any other artefacts that might be relevant.

Please note that we have added signage to urge visitors to practice caution while visiting the park, and to do everything within our means to limit the spread and transmission of COVID-19 including:

• Maintaining Social Distancing by keeping six (6) feet apart of others;
• Sanitizing or Washing your hands after touching high contact areas like gate doors;
• Covering your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze;
• Considering the use of a cloth face mask when social distancing is difficult;
• Staying home if you are experiencing any illness or flu-like symptoms

Please also note that experts recommend avoiding petting unknown or unfamiliar dogs, and washing or sanitizing hands if you do.

The North Bay Baseball Association (NBBA) has been closely monitoring the Covid-19 pandemic situation, taking guidance from the Ontario Baseball Association (OBA) as well as following provincial guidelines.  At this time, there has not been any indication that fields will be open early enough, if at all, to provide a typical baseball season.  With this in mind, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 season.
