Some of the readers of 'Nine Decades - Nine Lives: A Life in Pieces' (featured on 'All Around the Town' Oct. 27) are saying they can't put the book down, wanting to know what will happen to Curley Curvin next.  Author, Connie McCracken will be signing books on Saturday, November 9th, from 11 am to 4 pm at Peterborough Chapters on 873 Lansdowne St. W.  She says this book will make a great Christmas present to entertain anyone's season.  It has the history of Peterborough/Campbellford,Young's Point area and may include people you know.  But also includes unique stories, danger/death and food for thought.  Many may remember playing Curley's pinball machines, jukeboxes, wall boxes or humming along to his background music in restaurants and doctor's offices.   

Pickin' Nights - Essex/Kent Bluegrass, Old Time and Folk Music Association. 

Tuesdays, November 5 and 19 at 32 Russell St., Essex Senior Centre from 7-10pm. Bring your finest pickin' instrument or just come out to enjoy the music and fun. $15 yearly fee.
