“Leader of the Pack: The Ellie Greenwich Musical” tells the story of Ellie’s rise to fame as a songwriter who worked closely with Jeff Barry and Phil Spectre to create such toe-tapping tunes as “Chapel of Love,” “River Deep, Mountain High,” and “Da Doo Ron Ron.” Doors open at 6:30pm at ESS, 275 Farley Avenue. Suitable for kids from 7 and up! Students/children $10, Adults $15. Tickets available at Eastside Secondary School, Red Ball Radio or the Quinte Arts Council. Telecare Distress Centre of Peterborough: Training for New Volunteers introductory session, 7:00 pm, April 25, 2019, Trinity United Church, 360 Reid St., Peterborough. Training is 50 hours and cost $50. Subsidies are available. Listening skills and awareness of social, emotional and psychological needs and resources are developed. Training includes interactive sessions and presentations by local community experts. Come on out and enjoy lunch with old and new friends on Wednesday, April 24th at 12 noon.The menu for this luncheon features roast beef, potato, vegetable, strawberry shortcake, bread and butter, coffee or tea and will be catered by Bill Grieve, the chef with Wheel House and Occasions Catering. The cost is $10.00 per person. This event is sponsored by The Prince Edward County Community Care for Seniors Association and will be held in the Wellington United Church hall. There is an elevator for those who need it. The Learning portion features a presentation by Medi-Gas on mobility products and devices. Reserve by the Tuesday prior at 12 noon by calling 613-476-7493.
