Reading and discussion of the book "Determined: Life Without Free Will". Do humans have free will? What is the free will/determinism debate actually about? And what kinds of evidence/arguments could help us determine if we do have free will or not? 2pm Sunday January 14th at Portsmouth Tavern.
To welcome in the New Year of 2024 the Philosophy Meetup Group will run two versions of a new reading group on aspiring to live a simple and self-reliant life. We will read “Walden” (or “Life in the Woods”), by the naturalist and philosopher Henry David Thoreau, published in 1854. Saturday January 7th and Sunday January 8th.
