07:00 PM — 09:00 PM

PRACTICALLY HIP

Playing on Friday, September 26th at 7pm at the Tweed Outdoor Stage

Established in Southern Ontario in 1997, Practically Hip has been performing the music its members love for over 20 years at clubs, festivals, universities and colleges, and private events throughout North America and beyond.

The band is made up of professional musicians and performers who are also Hip superfans – together, they’ve seen over 75 Tragically Hip concerts! As true and dedicated fans, they can be note-perfect on all the songs while adding jams and electric performance elements that audiences are looking for. This is truly what has made Practically Hip the busiest, most sought after and number one Tragically Hip tribute band in Canada!

Evidently, the band is passionate about the material, capturing the nuances and spirit of the original performances – down to the rants, stories, and all the songs the Hip are known for! You will be amazed by the vocal ability and sheer stage presence of Dean Hughes as he interprets and recreates the full Gord Downie experience. The entire five-piece band is phenomenal - giving the highest level of energy and musicianship, they leave audiences raving for more.

Practically Hip has played numerous major festivals and events and has shared the stage with many top original recording acts including April Wine, Kim Mitchell, David Wilcox, Colin James, Big Wreck, Sloan, Trooper, Gowan (Styx), City and Colour and Honeymoon Suite – to name a few. Packed with artistry, talent and musicianship, get ready to celebrate all things Hip!

SCREENING: A NICE INDIAN BOY @ The MAC

02:00 PM — 04:00 PM

The first Movies at the MAC fall film...

A NICE INDIAN BOY

Playing Friday, October 10th at 2pm and 7pm!

A Nice Indian Boy is a 2025 American romantic comedy-drama directed by Roshan Sethi. The screenplay, written by Eric Randall, was adapted from Madhuri Shekar’s acclaimed stage play. The film stars Karan Soni as Naveen Gavaskar, a shy Indian-American doctor, and Jonathan Groff as Jay Kurundkar, a free-spirited photographer raised by Indian immigrant parents. Naveen - though accepted by his traditional family - has never fully revealed his truth, until a chance meeting at a Hindu temple leads to romance, awkward introductions to family, and the longing for a grand, Indian wedding. As Jay meets Naveen’s parents (Zarna Garg and Harish Patel) and sister Arundhathi (Sunita Mani), cultural quirks and emotional resistance give way to heartfelt comedy - and a touching celebration of love, identity, and belonging.

The film premiered at South by Southwest in March 2024 and saw a theatrical release in the U.S. on April 4, 2025, through Blue Harbor Entertainment. It's runtime of about 96 minutes.

This film is a must see, not just because it's a delightful rom-com, but because it's able to deliver authentic moments woven throughout laugh-out-loud action. Anchored by the undeniable chemistry of Soni and Groff, with standout performances from Garg and Patel, A Nice Indian Boy invites you into a world where love isn’t about bold declarations, but about small, transformative moments and the courage to belong.

Rated PG for some language. Learn more about this film's content rating here.

Regular tickets are $13.00 (HST included)
Youth tickets are $6.99 (HST included)

"Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks" onstage at Pinnacle Playhouse

07:30 PM — 09:30 PM

"Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks" is a touching and human comedy about a formidable retired woman, Lily Harrison, who hires an acerbic dance instructor, Michael Minetti, to give her private dance lessons — one per week for six weeks —in her condo in Florida. What begins as an antagonistic relationship blossoms into an intimate friendship as these two people from different backgrounds reveal their secrets, fears, and joys while dancing.

Written by Richard Alfieri and directed by Lise Lindenberg for the Belleville Theatre Guild.

Performances October 16 to November 2 at the Pinnacle Playhouse, 256 Pinnacle Street, Belleville, ON. For tickets phone 613-967-1442 or visit www.bellevilletheatreguild.ca.
