The Wallet to Wealth Event
Halton Women's Place is Halton's only women's shelter, and survives thanks to generous donations from the community to ensure they can house 180 women and children each year, and help an additional 4 to 600 women annually through their outreach programs. To raise the funds needed to keep supporting survivors of domestic abuse, they are grateful for events such as Wallet to Wealth, Jessica Kaitting reports.

This morning was our monthly check in with Milton Mayor Gord Krantz, and the hot topic right now from Prime Minister Mark Carney on down to the municipal level is budgets. Milton town council will be voting on the prospective budget a week from today at their next meeting. Over the past few years Mayor Krantz has been critical of council's support of municipal budgets that have soared above the rate of inflation, Jason Agnew asked if this year was following that same trend.

New Drury Lane Pedestrian Bridge Grand Opening
The new Drury lane pedestrian bridge was the focus of attention on Saturday as, despite already being open for two weeks, the official ceremony to open it took place, including a traditional ribbon cutting. Paid for by Metrolinx, it also marks progress on the way towards improving go train service in the area.
