Milton is benefitting from Ontario's skilled development fund, as the province is investing nearly 1.5 million dollars in upgrading the CWB training facility. Mayor Gord Krantz joins to discuss if the town had applied for these funds or if it's simply a matter of a private business attaining the grant that just happened to be located in milton. He also discuss what changes are being considered for the noise bylaw.

Garth Webb Secondary School was host to the 39th annual special athletics track meet on Friday, bringing together students with diverse physical and developmental abilities from all over Halton. Students in grades 4 - 8 participated in a wide variety of track and field activities - including 100 metre races, basketball, t-ball, soccer, bowling & obstacle courses in a supportive and fun environment, and the weather could not have been better! Self confidence can be a struggle for some children as they grow up. Addressing that need, particularly for young girls, is at the core of a series of 'she can' programs offered by the milton community resource centre in partnership with schools across the region. Ensuring there's enough funding to support those programs is at the heart of the annual all 4 her run, which took place this past Saturday.

With Conservation Halton going on indigenous speaker series they will be presentating "the teachings of lacrosse" this sunday in the longhouse village at crawford lake. So Conservation Halton's indigenous education coordinator Leeanne Doxtator joins to talk about lacrosse's indigenous roots as well as what to expect at the event.

A triad of social service organizations are reaching out to serve a vulnerable part of the population in a new way. Food for life, along with st. matt's and neighbour to neighbour are engaged in a pilot project to offer ready-to-eat fruits and ready-to-cook vegetables to those who can't prepare those foods at home. It also directly addresses food insecurity. the first conversation, towards developing the 'collaborative kitchen' program began last year and the kitchen began operations near the end of April.

With her knowledge and experience she shares the importance of events like Halton’s Walk to End ALS which help further awareness of the disease.

At the Oakville Conference Centre, the seventh edition of the Battle of the Chefs was held. The event’s goal was to help raise funds for Food4Kids Halton so that students in the region don’t go hungry, while letting local chefs from a variety of restaurants duke it out to see who is voted the best dish of the night.
