The Second Annual Polar Plunge
The second annual Polar Plunge had already surpassed its $20,000 fundraising goal to support Special Olympics Ontario before the first of several brave souls jumped into the frigid waters.
Organizer Chatham-Kent police Const. Jason Herder prior to event starting this afternoon, pledges totalled $31,186 without adding cash donations.

Local historians Jim and Lisa Gilbert unveil their new book "A Chatham-Kent Tapestry". Part our goal with these kinds of books is to listen to local knowledge – they’re the experts, not us,” she said. Gilbert said covering all of Chatham-Kent made it a much bigger project, which they had to pull the book together over the summer after Biblioasis approached them in late April, asking for it to be completed by September.
