The 2019 Relay for Life campaign kicked off their at the Sons of Kent Brewery on March 28th handing out information to registered teams 

Relay for Life takes place June 7 from 6 p.m. to midnight at Chatham-Kent Secondary School.

Relay is a major fundraiser for the society. Teams walk the CKSS track, celebrate those who have survived cancer and remember those who did not, all while raising funds.

When actor Ben Hardy appears behind the drum kit as a member of Queen in Bohemian Rhapsody, some of his movements come out of lessons with a Chatham drummer.

Steve Bottrill interviews Bryan McLellan who worked as a drum coach on the Academy Award-nominated film, which he said involved teaching Hardy ways to capture the “mannerisms” of drummer Roger Taylor.

Rebecca Reimer visited the Blenheim Blast Swim team and had a chance to speak with Hannah Davey, and her story of swimming with type one diabetes and how it has not held her back.

Julie Ross, a talented musician organizes a weekly group called SongCircle to help inspire our local musicians to their utmost potential.

The second annual Polar Plunge had already surpassed its $20,000 fundraising goal to support Special Olympics Ontario before the first of several brave souls jumped into the frigid waters.
Organizer Chatham-Kent police Const. Jason Herder prior to event starting this afternoon, pledges totalled $31,186 without adding cash donations.
