Oakville Mayor Rob Burton on the New Potential Protest By-law
The town of Oakville is seeking residents input on a new by-law that would ban protests near vulnerable social infrastructure such as places of worship, schools and hospitals. This was one of the topics in Jason Agnew's monthly chat with Oakville Mayor Rob Burton, and while Jason fully agrees with the potential by-law sentiment, he presented to the mayor a question: if a protest is told where to protest, doesn't it cease to be a protest?
Darling Home for Kids & Maverick's Donuts Fundraiser
A first of its kind fundraiser is wrapping up in Milton. Over the past week the Darling Home for Kids and the Milton location of Maverick's Donuts company combined resources to raise money for the home. As part of the appeal, a 15-year old who uses the home's services, was provided the opportunity to design and decorate his own donut.
