The Burlington Food Bank's Canstruction Junior Event 2025
In its third year the Burlington Food Bank's "Canstruction Junior" event brings together high school students for a chance to learn outside of school. In constructing their models using mostly canned goods, as well as other packaged foods, they're helping the community and learning about food insecurity. All of it just ahead of Thanksgiving when food banks across the region need fully stocked shelves.

Burlington's signature Sound of Music Festival has fallen on hard economic times. Organizational changes have left the festival in a disarray resulting in the City of Burlington providing loans to bail out the festival both of the last two years. Naturally this is not a financially sustainable model for the festival or the city. Burlington Mayor Marianne Meed Ward provides an update.

Milton's Newest Councillor George Minakakis
The Town of Milton held the by-election for Ward One Town Councillor on Monday. This is the spot that was vacated when Kristina Tesser Derksen was election as the MP for Milton-East Halton Hills South. 3,971 votes were cast out of 23,155 eligible voters making the turnout a disappointing 17%. Candidate George Minakakis dominated at the polls reaching nearly double the amount of votes attained by runner-up former Councillor Rick Dilorenzo. Jason Agnew spoke with the newly elected councillor earlier today and asked if he anticipated such a wide victory margin.
