OPP are investigating vandalism that took place at some local beaches in Gravenhurst and Bracebridge and are checking to see if it is connected to a recent letter that was given to a local media outlet that made reference to destroying beaches in the area.

The current Fire Danger Rating is set at high in Muskoka. In a previous interview with Gravenhurst Fire Department they remind us how easy it is for grass fires to start.

Habitat for Humanity Ontario Gateway North had an official grand opening of the newly relocated ReStore in Huntsville. Local dignitaries, Habitat representatives and volunteers came together on May 4 to celebrate. The Huntsville Habitat ReStore is now located behind the Huntsville Place Mall. May is Building Safety Month through out Ontario, and to celebrate Gravenhurst building department in association with the Fire Department want to raise the public's awareness in building, fire and home safety.

Plan, Prepare, Be Aware, that is the theme of Emergency Preparedness Week from May 6-12th, and Gravenhurst Fire Department want to share some helpful tips!
