Join CFUW St. Catharines members as we listen to Edward Spera, wildlife artist, share his travel adventures related to his art work. A self-taught artist, who has never taken a class or opened an art textbook, Edward's work, in acrylic paint, has been compared to and rated alongside well-known international wildlife artists. So realistic in their detail are his paintings that they can easily be mistaken for photographs. The thought process has always remained the same, trying to depict the animal in the most beautiful way he can, offering the viewer a glimpse into that animal’s world with the goal being of inspiring those who see his work to be mindful of the animals that we all share the world with, from the exotic animals in the far-flung reaches of the world, to the animals you see day-to-day in your own backyard. The Edward Spera Gallery is located in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.
Enjoy 'Portrait Painting Live' by juried artists and vote for your favourite artwork at this engaging, extraordinary CFUW St. Catharines gala fundraiser for young women's scholarships and agencies that support women and children. Meet our mystery 'celebrity' models while sampling tapas, exclusive wines and dancing to live music. A limited number of tickets to this unique, inaugural fundraiser are now available at $250 per person. The gala takes place at Coppola's Ristorante & Banquet Facilities, 203 Carlton Street, St. Catharines. Visit www.cfuwstcatharines.org/DTN for details and to secure your tickets.
