Community Event - Peterborough/Lindsay - FREE ST. JOHN FIRST-AID AWARENESS ON-LINE COURSE
LIMITED-TIME OFFER: UNTIL MAY 31st, COMPLETE A FREE FIRST-AID AWARENESS ON-LINE COURSE, FROM ST. JOHN AMBULANCE, A LOCAL, LIFE-SAVING CHARITY:
An innovative, web-based delivery method for First-Aid, Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) theory and evaluation to refresh, or introduce, participants to the knowledge, and skills, to confidently handle basic emergency situations until medical help arrives. This is not a certification, or a recertification, course, but it may be used as a training aid to help refresh, if you have previously taken a First-Aid certification course, or to introduce yourself to some basic First-Aid knowledge. For information, and/or to register for this on-line class, visit https://ont.sjatraining.ca.
ST. JOHN AMBULANCE OFFERING ON-LINE, CERTIFIED COURSES:
While the face-to-face first-aid training provided by St. John Ambulance has been put on hold for the time being, it is an ideal time for employers, and individuals, to take advantage of on-line learning opportunities for personal, and professional, development. St. John Ambulance offers 28 on-line training programmes, including Infection Control, WHMIS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), and many more. These certified courses can be completed completely--100%--on-line. For information, and pricing, visit https://ont.sjatraining.ca.
BLENDED STANDARD FIRST-AID TRAINING:
The WSIB, and the Ministry of Labour, require employers to have an employee on duty at all times in each work area with a valid First-Aid certificate. St. John Ambulance offers a Standard First-Aid Blended on-line learning option, which allows students to complete the first day of this required training on-line, only requiring half the time--one day--in class. The beauty of this Blended course is that it ensures that you, and your employees, are away from the workplace for only one day, rather than the usual two.
In response to the COVID-19 work interruptions, St. John Ambulance is allowing students 90 days from the completion of the on-line portion, to complete their in-class requirements. We are encouraging individuals to use this time to work through the on-line training and register into one of our future in-class training dates. For more information, pricing, and/or to register for a class, please visit https://sja.ca, or write sjapeterborough@bellnet.ca, or call 705-745-0331.
