The City of Brockville's Compost Site will reopen on Monday, April 27, 2020 to assist residents with their spring yard clean up.

To ensure the safety of residents and city staff, the following controls will be in place:

  • Proof of address is required for residents (Photo ID is preferred)
  • Free brush drop-off to avoid the exchange of cash
  • Compost will be available
  • Upon your arrival, instructions will be provided to a drop off location
  • To limit arrivals, you may drop off brush at the compost site only by the following schedule according to your weekly garbage pick-up schedule as listed below

Monday April 27 to Friday April 1, & Monday May 4 to Friday May 8:

Drop off of yard waste (leaves and brush) is permitted ONLY on your regularly scheduled curbside waste collection day. For example, if your regular waste collection day is Monday, then you can only drop off yard waste on Monday.

Hours of operation: 2pm-7pm

Saturday May 2, 202:

In addition to your regular schedule curbside waste collection day, you are permitted to drop off yard waste if you live North of Highway 401. This is designed to accommodate essential workers who cannot visit the site on their regular collection day.

Hours of operation: 10am-3pm

Saturday May 9, 2020:

In addition to your regular schedule curbside waste collection day, you are permitted to drop off yard waste if you live South of Highway 401. This is designed to accommodate essential workers who cannot visit the site on their regular collection day. 

Hours of operation: 10am-3pm

Southbound Dougall Avenue will have a lane reduction between Dougall Avenue/Ouellette Place intersection and South Cameron Boulevard.

Eastbound South Cameron Boulevard will be closed between Northwood Street and Dougall Avenue.  Traffic will be detoured via Northwood Avenue to Dominion Boulevard.  Westbound South Cameron will remain open from Dougall to Northwood.

Southbound Dougall Avenue will have a lane reduction between South Cameron Boulevard and E.C. Row Expressway, but access to westbound E.C. Row will remain open.

In light of the rapidly evolving response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Town of Essex has taken additional measures to protect the community while maintaining essential services for residents.

The closure of all facilities and cancellation of programs has been extended until Sunday, May 31.
