The Town of Kingsville is waiving penalties and interest on tax and water accounts until April 30, 2020 in order to provide residents with the flexibility to manage their cash flows during this time of crisis. Any residents on a pre-authorized payment plan will have payments withdrawn as scheduled, unless alternative direction is provided to the Town. Council will reassess deadlines on a continuous basis and may provide additional financial relief as the economic impact of COVID-19 becomes clear.
Penalties & interest payments to be waived for payments due March 31 through April 30. Property tax and water accounts set up for pre-authourized payment plans remain unaffected. Property owners who wish to be removed from an existing PAP plan must contact the Town's tax office at 519-728-2700 or taxes@lakeshore.ca.

n Emergency Delegation of Authority by-law to provide greater administrative flexibility on financial decision-making, extension to payment deadlines, legal agreements, and facility closures. This emergency delegation of authority would apply while the declared emergency remains in place and Council cannot reasonably be convened for those matters during the pandemic.
· Changes to the procedural by-law to allow for electronic participation in Council meetings during local emergencies. Going forward, Council members will be able to attend via electronic means, such as phone or teleconferencing. This new ability will reduce in-person meetings but will still ensure transparency by providing the public with electronic access to Council’s meetings during the pandemic emergency.
· Waiving penalties and interest for property tax payments up to and including April 30, 2020. Property tax accounts set up on pre-authorized payment plans will continue automatic withdrawals. Property owners requesting to end automatic payments must contact the Town’s Finance division at 519-776-7336 ext. 3050.
· The sending of a letter of support to the Ontario Energy Board, the Premier of Ontario, and the local Member of Provincial Parliament, asking for the elimination of time of use billing for hydro rates throughout the Province.
En cette période de Covid 19, les groupes de soutien et d'entraide et les conférences sont suspendus pour une période indéterminée.

The Town of Tecumseh is taking additional measures to encourage social/physical distancing to reduce opportunities for the spread of COVID-19 through measures in local parks. The Town is posting signs on playground equipment, skate park, tennis and pickle ball courts, and the leash-free dog park, confirming closures of these facilities. These measures will remain in effect until further notice and are directly related to the advice and recommendations from the federal and provincial governments and public health agencies.
“We continue to take measures that result in reduced exposure to this virus. We have the support of our public health unit in taking measures to ensure social/physical distancing,” said Gary McNamara, Mayor of Tecumseh. “Nothing makes me more unhappy than having to take such extreme measures as closing of these outdoor facilities and playground equipment, especially at a time when schools and daycares are closed. But it’s necessary and we can do this – every individual action counts. Stay home, spend time in your backyards, go for walks but avoid touching surfaces and being in groups of people.”
The measures being taken are as follows:
This work will be undertaken by municipal staff by midnight Tuesday, March 24, 2020 and will remain in place until further notice. Residents are requested to avoid congregating in groups, keep a physical distance from others, wash your hands and stay home unless it is absolutely necessary.
