For Professor Lowenthal, there's no need to look beyond the ideals of Socrates. But will Socratic ideals hold up when a bust of Socrates turns into an ideal weapon and ethical debate turns into ethical dilemma? What happens when life and death and tenure and grades hang in the balance and everyone's a philosopher all of a sudden, even the detective on the case? Directed by Lisa Morris, the play runs from November 28 to December 14 at the Pinnacle Playhouse. 8:00pm on select evenings and 2:00pm on Sundays. Adults $20, Seniors $18, Students $10. For tickets visit www.bellevilletheatreguild.ca or call 613-967-1442.

Playwright John Patrick Shanley has a knack for storytelling and this quirky Irish love story is both bittersweet and deliciously funny. Two generations of the Reillys and Muldoons, farming families in modern-day rural Ireland who live side by side, harbour a lingering grudge over a tiny parcel of land between them that could threaten the happiness of their children. Directed by Liz Marshall, the play runs from October 3 to 19 at the Pinnacle Playhouse. 8:00pm on select evenings and 2:00pm on Sundays. Adults $20, Seniors $18, Students $10. For tickets visit www.bellevilletheatreguild.ca or call 613-967-1442.
