The 26th annual Take Back the Night march will be held in Deep River this year at the Deep River Public Library on September 25th at 6:30 pm. ``Take Back The Night Marches`` are a time for women to gather in solidarity to reclaim the night as our own and to declare that women have the right to walk the streets at night and be safe. Men are welcome to participate; either by lining the side of the street or marching behind the women.
QUINTE FILM ALTERNATIVE (QFA) presents Great Movie Wednesdays' 23rd year and opens on September 11 with Red Joan. Academy Award winner Judi Dench and Sophie Cookson take on the complex persona and legacy of Joan Stanley, the seemingly demure physicist who was also a long-serving British spy for the KGB. Red Joan reminds us that spies aren’t always shadowy, nefarious figures. Sometimes, they are the old lady next door. Then on September 25: Papi Chulo directed by John Butler is followed by Le Grand Bain, October 9.
Matinees at 2:00pm; evenings at 7:30pm. Single tickets at the The Empire box office or full season memberships offer up to 40% off single ticket prices. More info:(www.quintefilmalternative.ca)
