The Pure Kids Triathlon/Duathlon (for ages 3-13), a family-friendly multisport race where kids between the ages of 3-13 swim, bike and run.

Saturday, August 10 starting at 8:30am at Lacasse Park, 590 Lacasse Blvd., Tecumseh.

Hospice Volunteers will be on site at registration, water stations and assisting participants. There will be a special award presentation at approximately 11am to recognize event winners, highest fund raisers and other stars of the events. Hospice executives and other local dignitaries will be in attendance.

Unveiling of Commemorative Plaque to Admiral Sir Charles Kingsmill

Hanna Park, Water Street, Portland, Ontario

Portland on the Rideau Historical Society (PRHS) is proud to announce and invite everyone to the unveiling of this plaque alongside the naval mast and flags in Portland where nearby at a local cemetery the 'Father of the Canadian Navy' is buried.

The unveiling will take place on Saturday 24 August, and guests are asked to arrive at 10h30 for the official commencement at 11h00 in Hanna Park, Portland. The adjacent Portland Community Hall will be open offering light snacks and refreshments after the ceremony.

Invitees include:

  • Senior Officer of the Royal Canadian Navy - to unveil the plaque with Portland's Admiral Sir Charles Kingsmill in 1910 dress naval uniform
  • Navy League of Canada Kingsmill Corps from HMS Carleton Ottawa
  • Sea Cadets of Canada
  • Members of the Kingsmill family (if possible)
  • Local MP, MPP, Mayor of Rideau Lakes Township
  • Ontario Historical Society representative

Members of the public are encouraged to attend. The event will be held rain or shine. Shuttle visits to the Kingsmill family gravesite can be arranged following the unveiling ceremony. Press coverage will be arranged for the event including local print and radio media.

Invitees are asked to please RSVP as soon as possible and further details will be made available.

The Niagara Leadership Summit for Women presents an inclusive environment to encourage and celebrate women leaders in our community and opens the conversation surrounding women’s issues in Niagara. The event is hosted by the YWCA Niagara Region and Brock University. Participants get to hear from women leaders, enjoy an amazing lunch, and connect with the Niagara community.

Le thème principal est : Bien vivre avec les troubles neurocognitifs en tant que proche aidant.

Ces ateliers  se tiendront au siège social situé au 14 rue Saint-Antoine à Sainte-Agathe. Les dates sont les 17-24 septembre ainsi que les 1-8-15 et 22 octobre à compter de 13h30.
