Each October, the Home Hospice Association hosts the Moonlit Memory Walk to raise funds to ensure compassionate care reaches people in the most vulnerable moments of life and loss. There are over 500 people who receive direct care through their programs, and thousands who engage with their education, grief support, and end-of-life initiatives. The Moonlit Memory Walk directly engages up to 200 participants and reaches an online audience of over 10,000. This year, funds raised will directly support: The H.O.P.E. Mobile Hospice, bringing dignity and care to those living and dying on the streets; The Bello Project, ensuring pets are cared for when their person is dying; New initiatives supporting adults with developmental disabilities at end of life, creating models of care in group home settings.
The Home Hospice Association is a Canadian registered charity with local teams in communities across Canada, working to ensure no one dies alone or unseen. They bring compassionate end-of-life care to individuals and families, regardless of their diagnosis, age, or housing status; including people living on the street, families grieving infant loss, and individuals navigating death without support, as well as caregivers in crisis, and adults with developmental disabilities in group homes. They are a Canadian leader in end-of-life education, outreach, and equity, training and mobilizing Death Doulas and volunteers to bring compassionate care directly into communities.
