Public Notices/Announcements - Windsor/Leamington - Rotary Club LaSalle - Scholarship for Youth
The Rotary Club of LaSalle Centennial is pleased to offer Student Scholarships.
These two $500 scholarships are meant to recognize one graduating student from each of Sandwich Secondary School and St. Thomas of Villanova Secondary School who exemplifies Rotary International’s motto of “service above self”, and who have worked to create lasting, positive change within our local and global community. Students who have participated in Rotary projects or have been involved with Interact LaSalle; a Rotary sponsored club, will be given special consideration.
The scholarships will be presented at each school’s graduation ceremonies.
LaSalle Rotarians are comprised of professional men and women dedicated to improving their local and global community through volunteerism and to live our motto of “Service Above Self.” Our six areas of focus include:
- Peace and conflict prevention/resolution
- Disease prevention and treatment
- Water and sanitation
- Maternal and child health
- Supporting education
- Growing local economies
If you would like to apply to this award, you must complete the application form on the next page and clearly demonstrate how you exemplify Rotary principles. You may also provide any applicable documentation that you believe is relevant to your application, (such as a resume, letters of recommendations, news clippings of your accomplishments, etc.). The deadline for applications is Friday May 24, 2019.

Public Notices/Announcements - Windsor/Leamington - CPC Earth Day Open House
On Friday April 26th, Contents Processing Centre CPC will be hosting the 2nd Annual Earth Day Open House, presented by Pinchin Ltd. All proceeds will support Assisted Living Southwestern Ontario (ALSO). ALSO is a charity that is committed to supporting adults with physical disabilities, survivors of acquired brain injuries, and seniors in Windsor and Essex County. CPC is a local environmentally active company that cleans and restores contents instead of disposing them in landfills. They have partnered with businesses and community partners that promote GREEN to make this event a great Earth Day Celebration.
Business professionals and organizations in our community are welcome to join the festivities at the Earth Day Open House on Friday April 26th from 11:30am – 2:30pm at CPC (4500 North Talbot Road - near the Ciociaro Club) to drop off their old recyclable electronics, grab a bite to eat, and network with our community partners. Registration is requested.
Last July, Contents Processing Centre started a Monthly Recycle Electronic Drive for Charity. All charity partners are welcome back for the Earth Day Celebration to showcase the electronics we diverted from the landfill and to celebrate together.
At this year’s event, we will begin with celebration and Special Cheque Presentation. CPC is an excellent example of a community partner that has contributed to the increased community awareness and services through good deeds, which affects our community as a whole.
Complimentary parking will be available at Ciociaro Club with shuttle services provided by ALSO.
