Community Event - Chatham - Countryside Knitting Club Monthly Meetings

The Countryside Knitting Club will be meeting monthly at the Chatham Branch of CKPL and new members are always welcome!

All meetings take place on the third Wednesday of each month from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. Participants are encouraged to bring their own knitting needles and yarn.

Upcoming meetings at Chatham Branch (120 Queen St, Chatham) will be: March 20, April 17, and May 15.

During meetings new techniques are demonstrated, members bring in items for ‘show and tell’, items are collected for charity, and members work to solve each other’s knitting issues. 

The Countryside Knitting Club, which started in the 1980s, includes machine and hand knitters. In addition to personal projects, members of the club have knitted various items including hats, scarves, mittens, baby blankets, baby outfits, baby hats and comfort balls for local charities.

Celebrating 30th years in Windsor Essex! This year's Earth Day theme, Protect Our Species is so important to our region. Join us for Sciensational Sssnakes, Art Lab's mobile splatter room, Super Duper Ultra Guy, a pop up playground and over 40 environmental exhibits!

Registration to be a vendor is now open.  Please complete the registration and waiver forms and mail or deliver with payment to the Ojibway Nature Centre (5200 Matchette, Windsor, Ontario, Canada, N9C 4E8) open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Earth Day is a day on which events are held worldwide to increase awareness and appreciation of the earth’s natural environment. Our organization aims to educate residents on environment and sustainability issues using hands-on, interactive methods. Over 45 different organizations participate in this event, designed to provide a voice and venue to environmental causes. Earth Day Windsor Essex has been celebrated since 1989.

The May Court Club of St. Catharines is hosting its 3rd annual event on April 7 from 11:00 - 3:00 at Holiday Inn & Suites, Ontario St., St. Catharines. The event includes a 4 course buffet lunch, 30 vendors, silent auction and raffle items. All money raised goes to Niagara Charities supporting the women & children in the Niagara Area. 

The cost is $45. Come out for a great social/shopping afternoon while helping our families in need.

It's Epilepsy Awareness Month and The Painted Cat is going to Paint it Forward to support Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario.  

Join local renowned artist Cat Cabajar as she walks you through step by step in creating a beautiful painting of a lavender field.
