Community Event - North Bay - Preschool Storytime
The North Bay Public Library Children’s Department is hosting the winter session of Preschool Storytime, an interactive program of stories, songs and finger plays for ages two and up on Thursday mornings starting January 31, through to March 7, 2019. Children must be two years old by the time the session begins When: Thursday mornings Time: 10:30 - 11 a.m. Place: Children's Storyroom Registration is required and begins on Monday, January 14 at 9:30 a.m., either by phone at 705-474-4830 or in person at the Children’s desk. Registration is limited. Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
Community Event - North Bay - Music for Toddlers
The North Bay Public Library Children's department is hosting a music program for toddlers (ages 1 and 2) and their parents/caregiver on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 a.m., starting on January 29 through to March 5, 2019. This program involves action songs and the use of basic rhythm instruments such as drums and shakers. When: Tuesday Mornings Time 10 - 10:30 a.m. Where: Children's story room Registration is required and will begin on Monday. January 14, 2019. Community Event - North Bay - Drawing Class for Kids
The North Bay Public Library will be hosting a Drawing Class for Kids on Saturday, January 26, from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. in the Children’s Storyroom. When: Saturday, January 26 Time: 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Ages: 10 - 15 Cost: $5 per child (supplies included) This program is for children ages 10 – 15. Registration is $5.00 per child and will begin on Saturday, January 5, in person at the Children’s Desk. Registration is limited.
Community Event - North Bay - "Make A Will: Information Sessions"
Join us on Monday, January 14 for "Make A Will: Information Sessions" with Michelle Lavigne Vezeau from 10 – 11 a.m. in the Joan Duquette room (OGS room), Mezzanine level, at the North Bay Public Library. This event will provide a general overview of Wills and Powers of Attorneys. Discussions will include: • Why anyone over 18 should have a will • General misconceptions about wills • Why Powers of Attorney are important This is a free event. Community Event - North Bay - Junior Book Club
The North Bay Public Library Children’s Department will be hosting Junior Book Club with Frontier College on Wednesday evenings starting January 9 from 6 – 7 p.m. in the Children’s Storyroom. Children ages 6-12 are invited to explore different themes through games, activities and stories with Frontier College tutors. The program is free and the fun is guaranteed. Junior Book Club is a great way for kids to learn about diverse subjects of interest in a hands-on way. Each weekly session introduces a new theme for kids and volunteers to explore (anything from volcanos and earthquakes to family pets). Theme pack kits include books (fiction and non-fiction, storybooks, chapter books, graphic novels, and more) and games, crafts, activity or experiment, and a variety of activity sheets. The materials included in each kit are all variations of the same theme, and participants are encouraged to do a bit of reading and writing each week by exploring the themes from their own perspective. This event will run until Wednesday April 3, 2019. Registration is required and will begin on Monday, December 3 at 9:30 a.m., either by phone (705) 474-4830 or in person at the Children’s Desk. Community Event - North Bay - Math Club
The North Bay Public Library in partnership with Frontier College presents the winter session of Math Club, a fun math and activity based program that engages kids in grades 3 and up starting Monday, January 7 from 6 – 7 p.m. in the Children’s Storyroom. This program will run to Monday, April 1, 2019. Participants will have an opportunity each week to explore different math based games, all at varying skill levels and based on the five math strands. Six different math kits, each including approximately 15 group and individual games plus a variety of math based books and stories are rotated through the different weeks of the club. Math Club is meant to be fun, full of opportunities for exploration and completely textbook free! Registration begins Monday, December 3 at 9:30 a.m. either by phone at 705-474-4830 or in person at the Children’s desk. Registration is limited
Community Event - Windsor/Leamington - A Night In Paris - Win A Day with a Doctor Gala
Fundraiser for Doctors Without Borders on Friday, January 11 at the Fogolar Furlan Club of Windsor. Doors open at 6pm, Dinner begins at 7pm. Tickets $55.
