A program mandated to foster city-wide beautification efforts from all property owners through a recognition program that encourages residents to strive to enhance their curbside appeal while utilizing basic horticultural and environmental considerations. Properties can achieve a bronze, silver, or gold trillium award to display in their garden.

Join the Park in the City Committee as they host their 13th Annual Ride of Silence event. The annual free bicycle ride event encourages all residents to take part and ride in honour of severely injured and fallen cyclists. All ages and skill levels are welcome; only a safe bike and helmet are required for this slow, procession style, approx. 10 km ride. No registration required.

Twice each year, volunteers scatter throughout parks, trails, walkways, and main street boulevards with recycling and garbage bags, collecting litter. Starting at Mick & Angelo's Restaurant at 9:00 am, volunteers can pick up their cleaning supplies and instructions. This event is rain or shine. Volunteers are asked to register online to participate.

Local residents, businesses, and schools are encouraged to plant native trees to help restore health to our urban environment. For only $5.00 each, the following native seedlings can be purchased: Eastern Hemlock, White Pine, Red Oak, Tulip, & Bitternut Hickory. Residents can pre-order 5 to 25 seedlings with prepayment at the MacBain Community Centre or the Gale Centre from April 1st-23rd.
