On Friday, November 23rd, the Thames Art Gallery, in partnership with the ARTspace Advisory Committee, will open its doors for the eighth biennial Eye for Art. Eye for Art is a juried exhibition, sale and celebration of the visual arts community in Chatham-Kent.
A maximum of 3 works may be submitted by each artist, and must be available for purchase. Submission forms are available at the Thames Art Gallery, ARTspace as well as online www.chatham-kent.ca/TAG. Works of art are to be brought to the Thames Art Gallery on November 1 & 2, during regular gallery hours 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM. A fee of $35 per artist will be due at the time of registration.
Eye for Art will be exhibited from November 23, 2018 to January 13, 2019. The opening reception and awards ceremony will take place November 23, beginning at 6:00 PM. A total of $2000.00 in awards will be presented, three Awards of Excellence ($500 each) and one People’s Choice Award ($500). This year’s Eye for Art will also feature the “Brush Off”, a popular painting competition where artists will compete for a “coveted prize” and all the works created will be auctioned. Wear your starving artist best, pay homage to your favourite artist, or come in your painting gear ready to enter the “Brush Off” ring!

Bring clean running shoes, wear warm athletic type clothing and join our volunteers out on the sheet to help you experience the game of curling for the first time. 

Anyone 19 and under must wear protective headgear. (skateboard/snowboard helmet, skate halo, hockey helmet.)
