The Monstor Choir returns! One of our subscribers exclaimed with glee when we annouced the return of the renowned Elmer Iseler Singers to Sarnia.
The Elmer Iseler Singers is a professional chamber choir based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The twenty-voice choir, conducted by Artistic Director Lydia Adams, founded by Dr. Elmer Iseler in 1979, is one of Canada’s leading choral ensembles. The choir has built an international reputation through its concerts, broadcasts and more than fifty recordings. The Elmer Iseler Singers’ repertoire spans five hundred years of choral music. The choir regularly commissions and performs new works, and appears at national and international festivals.
This will be a major event for the Concert Association and we hope you will join us. We expect this will be a very popular event, so please get tickets early at the Imperial Theatre Box Office.
Fun and fiery fusing of classical showpieces with jazz, world and folk music. Double-Double Duo uses comedy, virtuosity, and musical sensitivity to bring music from Bach to Benny Goodman to life. Sarnia Concer Association regulars will remember Kornel Wolak, clarinetest, back in Sarnia with Michael Bridge on digital accordian, bringing large orchestra sound to the stage with 2 instruments. This unusual combination blends traditional and contemporary with their instruments and musical repertoire for a one-of-a-kind performance!
Karl is one of Canada's most accomplished violinists, having appeared at many of the most prestigious concert halls in North America including Carnegie, Roy Thompson, the National Arts Centre and the Orpheum. He has delighted audiences as a concertmaster, soloist, and chamber musician, with a wide ranging repetoire from Betthoven String Quartets to Mahler's Symphonies, including Ysaÿe’s Solo Violin Sonatas for which recording he was nomiated for a Juno Award.
This will be a Sarnia Concert Association event that you will not want to miss!
