Community Event - Cornwall - Landscaping & Grounds Maintenance Labourer Program
Do you like to work outdoors? Tri-County Literacy Council is offering a FREE 5-week course for the entry-level position of Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance Labourer. Participants practice Essential Skills while learning about this occupation, meet industry guest speakers and attend a site visit. Course topics include:
-soil preparation
-garden design
-plants
-work safety
-and more
The training is suitable for a variety of learners including those planning to enter the workforce for the first time, people changing careers, and individuals wishing to strengthen Essential Skills.
This class starts January 28th. Class runs Monday to Thursday 9 am to 12 pm for 5 weeks. For more information or to register call 613-932-7161.

Community Event - Peterborough/Lindsay - Friends of the Library Giant Winter Book Sale
The Friends of the Library will host our Winter Giant Book Sale on Friday, March 1st from 12:00 noon until 7 p.m. and on Saturday, March 2nd from 10:00 a.m. until 3 pm. There will be books on hand that date from the early 20th century right through to current bestsellers. Whatever category of book you're looking for, there's a good chance you'll find it at our sale. The earlier you come, the better your chances. All proceeds from our sale will be donated to the Peterborough Public Library. We look forward to seeing you there.
