The Thames Art Gallery and the Chatham-Kent Prosperity Roundtable present, in conjunction with CK Employment and Social Services and Chatham-Kent Public Library, Breaking Barriers, a non-juried exhibit of local art exploring themes related to overcoming divisions, marginalization’s, and inequality. Open to both amateur and professional artists, participants created works which seek to empower as well as promote resilience and resourcefulness in coping with different barriers reflecting their lived experiences.
The opening reception for Breaking Barriers will be held at the Thames Art Gallery on Friday, September 28, from 7:00PM – 9:00PM. All are welcome for this free and family friendly reception. The Thames Art Gallery is located at the Chatham Cultural Centre, 75 William St. N. Chatham. The gallery is open Wednesday to Friday from 1:00-7:00PM; Saturday and Sunday 11:00AM-4:00PM.

Help plant trees and shrubs at the south end of Lemoine Point Conservation Area, Saturday, Oct. 13 at 9 a.m. Enter via Front Road to the parking lot. Bring a shovel and gloves if you have them, and please wear long pants and sturdy footwear. There are ticks in the area and insect repellant will be provided. Planting is followed by a refreshment break. This is a TD Trees Day and Friends of Lemoine Point event.

SONGBIRDS & CROONERS – Songs of Days Gone By

Enjoy the smooth and sentimental vocal style of some of the most iconic vocalists of the 20th century as the Peterborough Pop Ensemble pays tribute to unforgettable artists such as Rosemary Clooney, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby and Peggy Lee, to name a few, on Saturday, February 9, 2019.  The matinee performance of Songbirds & Crooners – Songs of Days Gone By begins at 2:00 p.m. at the historic Market Hall Performance Centre, Peterborough, ON. 

As part of the Peterborough Pop Ensemble Charity Program, the Ensemble is honoured to be supporting Community Care Peterborough with a portion of the proceeds from this concert.

Adults - $23; Students - $13 (prices include service fee).
