Work is continuing on Pembroke Street East. Stage two of the project, from Cecelia Street to Mackay Street, is starting Thursday, October 25, 2018 until approximately November 5, 2018, to allow for resurfacing. 

A Road Closure will be required for this resurfacing. Traffic will be limited to local traffic only. Through traffic will not be permitted and detours will be posted. 

The City of Pembroke asks that drivers respect the posted construction signage at all times. 

You are also reminded that the businesses within the construction and detour zones remain open for business and the many business owners would be happy to serve you. Businesses not accessible from a side street will be signed for access off Pembroke Street. 

We thank you for your patience as the City of Pembroke continues to improve our infrastructure.

Pembroke Street East Rehabilitation Stage Two 

Effective immediately and continuing until approximately November 5, 2018, Pembroke Street East will be under construction from Cecelia Street to Mackay Street, to allow for resurfacing

For the duration of this construction period, Peter Street will be temporarily changed to a two-way street commencing October 25, 2018 until approximately November 5, 2018. This will allow for traffic movement in both directions on Peter Street for this time frame. 

The City of Pembroke asks that drivers respect the posted construction signage at all times. 

You are also reminded that the businesses within the construction and detour zones remain open for business and the many business owners would be happy to serve you. Businesses not accessible from a side street will be signed for access off Pembroke Street.

Attend United Way of Chatham-Kent’s free workshop for volunteer managers of  Long-Term Care Homes and Hospice Programs.

WHEN: Thursday, November 15, 2018 @ 1:00 p.m.

Developed specifically with the challenges of Long-Term Care Homes or Hospice Programs in mind, this workshop will cover topics from planning for long-term care/hospice roles to maintaining boundaries with vulnerable clients and addressing negative perceptions of volunteering with the sick.

The workshop will be delivered by Volunteer Toronto, in partnership with United Way of Chatham-Kent, and is tailored to equip volunteer managers with the information, skills and resources they need to continue making a difference through the long-term engagement of volunteers.
