In an effort to garner community feedback on the upcoming 2019 Budget, the Town of Essex has launched a new survey.

The survey will give citizens the chance to weigh in on the budget priorities they feel are most important to them. The survey asks citizens to weigh in on 12 key areas of spending, as well as identify their knowledge of the budget and how they receive information from the Town.

“Results of the survey will be an important source of information on how we build our budget this year, and in the future,” said Jeffrey Morrison, Director of Corporate Services. “We welcome any questions, comments, or concerns from citizens and this new tool provides a quick and easy way to provide feedback.”

The responses from the survey will provide Council and administration key information about community priorities as they work towards finalizing next year’s budget and four-year financial forecast.

The survey, which can be filled out online at essex.ca/BudgetSurvey, will accept responses until Monday, November 19.

Print copies will also be available as of Monday, October 22 at the following Town facilities:

·         Town Hall (33 Talbot Street South, Essex Centre)

·         Essex Centre Sports Complex (60 Fairview Avenue, Essex Centre)

·         Essex Recreation Complex (242 Talbot Street North, Essex Centre)

·         Harrow and Colchester South Community Centre (243 McAffee Street, Harrow Centre)
