July 19-29 is hosted by the Olde Walkerville Theatre in Walkerville. Its first weekend of performances begins the same weekend as the Walkerville Art Walk when the streets will be filled with pedestrians checking out shops, restaurants, bars and now the recently air-conditioned heritage theatre building for entertainment.

The local Fringe Festival is part of the larger Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals (CAFF), where artists (writers, performers, director and producers) create theatre designed to be “on the fringe” of mainstream. Uncensored and unjuried, the audience decides how good or bad an act is.

Shows run from 30 -90 minutes, costs as little as $4-$14, run for 9 days, 8 shows, 6 times each, and patrons are encouraged to “rate” the show after viewing it. Guests are invited to sit up close to the stage so that the festival keeps its intimate feeling, and actors can see immediately how their performance is accepted by the crowd. All ticket proceeds to directly to the artists.

Tickets available online at www.windsorwalkervillefringefest.com or at the box office.
