Visit the Chatham Branch of CKPL on Friday, July 20 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm to take part in our Mini Maker Fair. Participants in this fun event will get hands on experience testing out different maker technologies including:

  • 3D printer
  • Makey Makey
  • Little Bits
  • Strawbees
  • Snap Circuits
  • Green Screen

This is an all ages event. No registration required.

Lindsay- The Victoria County Historical Society is seeking to add members to its volunteer Board of Directors. The Board is especially interested in receiving applications from individuals with a passion for local history in addition to experience in areas of board governance, charity and not-for-profit law, human resources, marketing and communications, or bookkeeping and fundraising. Interested applicants are invited to bring a résumé or curriculum vitae to the Olde Gaol Museum at 50 Victoria Avenue North in Lindsay and fill out an application before June 25. Successful applicants will be interviewed and required to submit a police background check with vulnerable sector screening.

 

The Victoria County Historical Society is a non-profit heritage organization that works to increase community awareness, appreciation, involvement, and support of the Olde Gaol Museum and Kawartha Lakes’ cultural heritage. Through the museum and its community outreach initiatives, the Society features, celebrates and shares educational content to the public based on significant events in Canada’s history and how they link to the local community.
