June is designated as Seniors’ Month and Transit Windsor, along with the Seniors’ Advisory Committee (SAC) of the City of Windsor is offering a special discount to seniors.  From June 3-9, 2018, seniors may ride any city bus for just a loonie! (Note: Tunnel Bus service excluded.)

This is not only our opportunity to thank our senior riders but also to encourage other seniors to explore public transit as an option for their travel. Senior fare applies to anyone over 60 years of age. Seniors must show valid ID upon paying their fare, if requested by the driver.

The number of seniors in Canada will grow from 4 million in 2006 to almost 10 million in 2036. Transit allows seniors to stay active in their community at a time when many have given up driving and may be on a fixed income. Seniors are able to purchase tickets and bus passes at a reduced rate. Additionally, the city transit system offers specialized “door-to-door” service from senior complexes to shopping venues, Monday through Thursday.

Visit www.transitwindsor.ca or call 311 for more information on Transit Windsor.
