June is Canadian Tire Jumpstart month and the Town of Essex is celebrating! Join us for a free Jumpstart event on Sunday, June 3 at the Essex Recreation Complex from 11:00am until 2:30pm.
The event will feature a free recreational swim from 1:00-2:30pm, sponsored by the Healthy Kids Community Challenge. Participants can also enjoy a bouncy castle and inflatables as well as a BBQ lunch and bake sale, with all proceeds going to Jumpstart.
The Jumpstart charity provides funding for families in need to participate in sport and recreation programs in the municipality.
“Jumpstart has had incredible success in making sports and recreation accessible to all,” said Assistant Manager of Programs, Jason Jolicouer. “This event will celebrate the impact the charity has had both in our community and across the country”
Jolicouer added that the event will also give participants the chance to learn about the upcoming Clubhouse Summer Day Camp. Kids will even get a sneak peek into the games and activities the camp will feature.
Since its inception, Canadian Tire Jumpstart has helped 726 kids in the Essex Chapter, distributing over $70,000. People looking to make a donation can visit jumpstart.canadiantire.ca
