Russian music holds a special place in our Maestro’s heart. This concert showcases the very best of Russia’s romantic orchestral offerings. Rachmaninoff’s Vocalise spools out a beautiful Russian melody as though it were silk. The Rococo Variations is Tchaikovsky’s most brilliant work of intimacy. We end the program with a rarely heard work from a contemporary of Tchaikovsky, Vasily Kalinnikov. His second symphony is unsurpassed in its grandeur and Russian majesty.
On January 1, 2019, when Windsor Police begins to serve the Town of Amherstburg, the community will see an updated vehicle fleet brandished with a new design.
In keeping with the Town’s promise of public engagement, the Amherstburg community is invited to vote on one of two proposed designs, which can be viewed in person at King’s Navy Yard Park on Saturday, September 29, during the Ice Cream with a Cop component of the Culture Days event in downtown Amherstburg.
Ice Cream with a Cop is an interactive community engagement initiative designed to bring law enforcement and community members together, discussing any questions or concerns regarding the transition, or policing as a whole. Police officers from both Windsor Police Services and Amherstburg Police Services will be on hand to greet the public, and will distribute a coupon for a free scoop at Waterfront Ice Cream to the first 200 guests.
The winning design will be unveiled later this year.
