Message: The Friends of Laurier Woods, a non-profit charitable organization, is offering themed interpretive hikes throughout the summer and autumn at the Laurier Woods Conservation Area. The Saturday, October 6th walk will be guided by Marianne Haist and will focus on astronomy in the Woods. The 2-hour hike will start at 8:00pm from the parking lot at the end of Brule Street. The hikes are offered at no charge and open to young and old alike. Hikers are reminded to wear appropriate footwear. Laurier Woods Conservation Area, within the heart of the City of North Bay and adjacent to Home Depot, features a 12-kilometre trail network through significant wetlands and upland forest. The Cobourg & District Historical Society invites you to join us as Brian Porter tells the story of Major James Walsh of Brockville, one of the original officers of the North West Mounted Police.  Major Walsh met and befriended Sioux Chief Sitting Bull in 1877, when thousands of Sioux came to Canada after the defeat of Lt. Col. Custer.

Rallye auto des Chevaliers de Colomb de Saint-Honoré-de-Shenley le dimanche 7 octobre.
