A ceilidh (kay-lee) is an informal social dance with live music (Frank Edgely & his band), dancing and more. There is a caller who demonstrates and then calls out the moves, making it ideally suited for beginners.
The event is FREE. The Ceilidh is held during Friday night dinners at the Scottish Club so there is an optional $10 meal available ($6 for kids). There is a cash bar.
Dancing starts at 6:30pm with the meal being offered from 5pm to 7:30pm. They are great fun if you enjoy dancing and/or trying new things. You can also just sit and enjoy a free concert.

In an effort to raise funds, the Amherstburg Freedom Museum is hosting its annual Ribs and Ragtime event on June 2. Not only is this event a fundraiser, it is an opportunity for the museum to engage with the community and share Amherstburg’s rich Black History. At the event guests will be served ribs, chicken and side dishes, with a fantastic musical performance from the band Straight Ahead. The event starts at 4pm to 8pm here at the Amherstburg Freedom Museum.
Momentum Choir is a highly disciplined, professionally facilitated performance choir based out of the Niagara Region, that consists entirely of musicians living with a developmental disability. Please join us at our end of the year concert; the May Gala titled "I live where the music is". We will be singing a number of popular music pieces included a few new songs in addition to some fan favourite.
This year we will be joined by the Momentum All-Star Brass Band. Early bird tickets are available now until May 20th for $15. General admission prices increase to $20 after that date. This is a family friendly event and children are free!
