Community Event - Windsor/Leamington - Jerry Slavik's Friends Day - event update

 A tribute event for the late Jerry Slavik is open to the entire community. Jerry’s Friends Day is an opportunity for his family to thank everyone who came into Jerry’s life and gave of their time, support and friendship. 

 Fun for the whole family, Jerry’s Friends Day, begins at 5 pm at Alumni Stadium at the University of Windsor. 

Activities include:  Face painting; Amy’s Kids Corner; Knobby’s Kids Hockey Skills; University of Windsor Athletic Club Run the Track; Zoo2You Petting Zoo; Popcorn; Cotton Candy; the Hospice Wellness Band, the Windsor Fire Department, EMS and so much more. 

 A special Memory Lap for Jerry will commence at 5:30. W​ith a donation, participants will receive a commemorative racing bib​ to join the celebratory race.

 The event will culminate in a spectacular display of fireworks by K & H. 

The Slavik family is grateful to the University of Windsor, WFS (Windsor Factory Supply), the City of Windsor, the Running Factory, Running Count, K & H, and so many more for making this event possible.  Donations are being accepted online at ​www.gofundme.com/jerry039s-friends  Visit ​https://jerrysfriendsacelebration.blogspot.com​ to learn about the charities to benefit from this event.

Public Notices/Announcements - Kingston - Temporary Road Closure in Pembroke

City of Pembroke Media Release: 

Temporary Road Closure: McGee Street from Christie Street to Murray Street 

Effective Wednesday, August 8, 2018 and continuing until August 17, 2018, McGee Street will be closed from Christie Street to Murray Street. 

A Road Closure will be required due to sanitary sewer and road work being done on McGee Street. Traffic will be limited to local traffic only. Through traffic will be restricted and detours will be posted. 

The City of Pembroke asks that drivers respect the posted construction signage at all times. 

You are also reminded that the businesses within the construction and detour zones remain open for business and the many business owners would be happy to serve you. 

We thank you for your patience as the City of Pembroke continues to improve our infrastructure.
