The Hastings County Historical Society invites everyone to attend the unveiling of the third of seven bronze historical plaques to be dedicated throughout Hastings County this summer.  This plaque celebrates the central role the Bancroft Hotel has played in both the business and social life of the community of Bancroft since its establishment in the late 1900's.

The Hastings County Historical Society invites everyone to the unveiling of the second of seven bronze historical plaques to be dedicated throughout Hastings County during the summer of 2018.  This plaque commemorates the acquisition by William Fraser Chisholm of the Shipman's mills (flour and feed mill and sawmill) on the Moira River at Roslin. in the late 1840's  Since then six generations of the Chisholm family have provided products and services to the surrounding area and now encompass a fully integrated operation from forest to finished wood products.

Hastings County Historical Society invites everyone to the unveiling of the first of seven bronze historical plaques to be dedicated throughout Hastings County over the summer of 2018.  This plaque commemorates the Thomasburg Spring which provided fresh, cool water for generations of thirsty travellers,settlers nd their animals, and was the reason the village of Thomasburg developed so rapidly at the site beginning in the 1830's. . The spring evolved into a well and reservoir for fighting fires, and for over a hundred years provided people from miles around with their drinking water.

Proudly hosted by the Northumberland Central Chamber of Commerce, the Pancake Breakfast is cooked and served by Chamber members and Community volunteers at the Cobourg Waterfront Festival. Breakfast includes fluffy pancakes with sausage and local maple syrup, local strawberries and a drink.  What better way to start your day!  Tickets sold from 7:30 am to 10 am each morning.  Adults $9 and Children $5. Early Bird Special, $1 Off tickets purchased before 8:30 am.

Community Event - Cornwall - Cornwall Parkinson SuperWalk

Annual Cornwall Parkinson SuperWalk in support of Parkinson Canada - a charity which provides support, education and services for people living with Parkinson's.  The event takes place at Lamoureux Park in Cornwall, adjacent to the Cornwall Civic Complex.  The walk is about 2 km, but participants can walk as little or as far as they wish.  This is one of more than 70 other SuperWalks taking place across Canada, in support of the 100,000 Canadians living with Parkinson's.  Register or get more information online by visiting www.superwalk.ca or by calling 1-800-565-3000 ext 3427.  Volunteers are also needed.
