Boxing 4 Health is a program which offers boxing classes for people living with Parkinson's disease. In order to facilitate these classes volunteers are needed to assist with equipment set up and take down and to direct and encourage students during the class. Cooper’s Hawk Vineyards Winery has “Gone Country” and is hosting a country music event on Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 4 PM to 10 PM. This is a charitable event with proceeds going to the United Way of Windsor and Essex County, to benefit youth programs in Essex County, like On Track to Success and the Summer Launch program.
This event will feature local country artists and line dancers along with delicious food, wagon rides, local wine, cider and beer all set in the middle of our breathtaking vineyard at 1425 Iler Road, in Harrow, Ontario.
The headliner act features Nashville recording artist and local rising star Steve Oriet. He will also be doing some live filming for his video “Stomp”, an upcoming country hit, with a choreographed line dance featuring dancers from Pure Academy. Another well-known 4 piece local group, Paying Cash, will showcase the original sound and look of the Man in Black.
The event will open with Tim Nolan, a solo singer/guitarist, with over 30+ years of performing experience, who just returned to our area after performing in the U.S. over the past 17 years.
This event is being sponsored by Libro Credit Union, Blackburn Country Radio 95.9 and 92.7, Atlas Tube, Farrow Customs Brokers, Tourism Windsor Essex and Pelee Island, , Long and McQuade and Zalev Brothers.
Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door, and $25 VIP Seating area (in advance only).

Community Event - Sarnia - Rare B-25 Bomber Coming to Sarnia 7/9 - 15!
The type of fast, muscular aircraft made famous in the 1942 Doolittle Raid during WWII will be on public exhibition at the Sarnia Chris Hadfield Airport Monday, July 9 - Sunday, July 15, 2018.
The B-25J 'Maid in the Shade' is one of the Arizona Commemorative Air Force's combat aircraft based at its world-famous museum based in Mesa, Arizona.
Tour Hours: Monday, Friday - Sunday: 2 pm - 6 pm and Tuesday - Thursday: 9 am - 6 pm. Standard plane tour fees are $10/person and $20/family of four (in US and Canada) but may vary by tour location.
Rides in the aircraft will be offered Friday - Sunday from 10am - 1pm for $325 USD (waist gunner seats) or $650 USD (jump seats in nose).

Community Event - Niagara - Out of the Heat Niagara-- Summer Shelter
Please join us opening night, July 4, for a community BBQ from 8pm-9:30pm! Come meet our volunteers and see our space!
Out of the Heat Niagara is a community run emergency shelter pilot project scheduled to run six days a week from July 4, 2018- August 31, 2018 at Grace Anglican Church (238 Geneva St.) .
The program will have check in at 8pm, with a snack provided for those sleeping over. Participants will be provided with bedding and a cot and encouraged to attend the St. George's Breakfast Program in the morning.
We are aiming to provide supports in the way of outreach/ housing workers, harm reduction/ needle exchange program, as well as health care workers on site as much as possible.
We are not currently funded in any way and are running this program via volunteers and fundraising efforts. We are currently in need of volunteers, as well as food sponsors and various items. Practicum hours and community service hours are available.
