The Youth Opportunities in the Arts presents Tea with Enid and Pearl, an evening of dinner and Canadian theatre by Lyn McCauley and Gretchen Heatley, starring Lisa Leroux and Lorraine Palmer-Smith. This takes place on Saturday, February 10 at 6 p.m. in the Lower Hall at St. John's United Church, Brockville. Tickets are $25 each available at St. John's United Church, Aura Hair Salon and online at SNAP'd 1000 Islands.

A second Public Information Centre (PIC) is scheduled on January 30, 3-7pm at the Leamington Arts Centre for the public to view draft recommendations. Input and feedback is welcome from everyone. Once the second PIC is held, the Consulting Team will assemble all the feedback received, finalize alternatives and present Council will with a final Master Plan in March. More information is available at www.leamington.ca . Check the website often to obtain updates on the Uptown Master Plan progress and a full list of upcoming community consultation events.

Public Announcement - Windsor/Leamington - Community Open House - Local Black History Month

February 3, 1-3pm at Windsor Public Library, Central Branch - Local History Room, 850 Ouellette Ave., Fred Israel Auditorium (Lower level) - Northstar Cultural Community Centre will host a community open house to celebrate local black history. 

The community is invited to meet author Irene Moore Davis and publisher Dan Wells, Biblioasis, who will be on hand to discuss the book. Community members may also bring old photos to be added to Northstar’s digital archive, discuss their family’s history, and take a tour of the local history room.

“The Long Road Continues” seeks to inspire Windsor-Essex’s Black community about their own history, by encouraging their participation in the process and by creating an inclusive book.
